5 Things to Know: Golden Apple Theater, Dog Day Afternoon

1.) The Golden Apple Dinner Theater invites guests to fill themselves with a full buffet and also get their holiday fill. "Amahl and the Night Visitors and A Christmas Variety Show" is a double billing: Gian Carlo Menotti’s classic Christmas musical story is followed by an original musical holiday revue. Tickets are $40, $25 for children. Curtain time is 7:30.
2.) Southeastern Guide Dogs Discovery Center brings back its popular program called BARC, or Be a Reader to Canines. The program, which is from 2-4 p.m. today, is especially popular with students over the Christmas break. Students can bring in required reading from school and read to the canines. Children must be accompanied by an adult. BARC will run today, Friday and Dec. 27-30.
3.) The Santa-Chanukah Pup will be at Southeastern Guide Dogs Discovery Center today at 3 p.m.
