Football fever hits Manatee County schools during playoffs

MANATEE COUNTY - It's the first time in more than two decades that two football teams from Manatee County are both vying for the semi-state championship title. Class 5A Palmetto High School and Class 7A Manatee High School are both hoping to make it to the state championships tonight.It was back in 1985 that two teams from Manatee County both hosted state semifinal games at the same time. Manatee went on to win the Class 5A Championship that year, and Southeast High lost in the Class 4A final.One coach tells ABC 7 that since the State Championship games are always played at neutral locations, what we have happening right now is the best anyone can hope for.
