Signature Sotheby's International Realtor involved in fraud scheme

SARASOTA - Signature Sotheby's International Realty currently employs a Realtor who admitted being part of a flipping scheme. In addition the agent filed for bankruptcy, blaming "bad private decisions in the past" as the reason for that.

Linda Sloan, currently an agent with Signature Sotheby's International Realty, and her husband, Michael, signed documents last week admitting that they made material false statements to federally insured mortgage lenders and engaged in mail and wire fraud.



Though the Sloans have admitted to the same charges as other defendants who have pleaded guilty in the case thus far and who are expected to receive jail time, the Sloans' attorney says the couple do not face mandatory prison terms.
