Felon Arrested On Battery, Aggravated Assault Charges

A Sarasota man with a history of arrests for violent crimes is facing more chargers this week.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Jadavian Shird, 21, of 3217 Newtown Blvd., Monday for a variety of charges.
Deputies Shird, a wanted felon, at the Budget Inn Motel, 8100 North Tamiami Trail, and arrested him without incident at 1:40 p.m., Monday, according to the sheriff's office.
Shird was wanted for armed robbery with a firearm and domestic battery by strangulation, but is now facing new charges for attacking a former girlfriend and threatening her and three other women with a gun Sunday night at the Newtown Recreation Center, according to the sheriff's office.
Shird is being booked on the outstanding warrants and charged with one
