Boat ramp parking solution planned

PALMETTO - The city of Palmetto may be close to buying a vacant lot near its boat ramp. That would help solve a parking problem at the ramp. But the city has bigger ideas, too. Chris Lassen has spotted an opening. He runs to his truck and rushes to get his boat down the ramp and into the water – and his truck and trailer back into its parking space – before someone else shows up. Before the serenity on the water comes the strategy in the parking lot.“It gets to the point where you gotta take a spot, make sure everyone else launches their boat, and then you can go launch,” Lassen says.The Palmetto boat ramp has 17 spaces for boat trailers.
