Bicyclist death on bridge spurs talk of safety improvements
MANATEE COUNTY - A 44-year-old man died this weekend while riding his bike on the DeSoto Bridge in Manatee County. He was hit by a car and sent flying into the Manatee River. Now his death is prompting county commissioners to discuss how to improve safety on the bridge.For pedestrians and especially for bike riders, the DeSoto Bridge is not a bridge you want to be on.
