Simulated tornato tests Manatee emergency workers
BRADENTON - It is only coincidence that on a day that tornadoes sweep across parts of the country, Manatee County emergency workers hold a drill to practice how to react if a tornado happens here. But they say the midwest and southern storms remind them why they do the exercise. “We hope we will not have an event like this but if we do they'll be able to work through the chaos of the situation a little better,” says David Ezell, Assistant Chief of the Bradenton Fire Department. In the exercise, a tornado has struck the Manatee County administration building. Rescuers have to go in, identify and assess the victims, and get them out.
