New Wexler Exhibit 'Haunted Dreams' On Display

Anita Wexler's art is anything but dull.
Vivid, bright colors; bold lines, and subtle symbols permeating the background. Inevitably, predictably for Wexler, in the forefront, figures of men and women and the backgrounds full of suggestion.
Cally Lajeunesse, new to Sarasota and an art student, commented on Wexler's art. "There is a great deal of symbolism she incorporates. The owl, the Native American head. Much of her work seems to be about love, about loving and at the same time it is uncomfortable."
Also at the exhibit, Tanya Champagne remarked, "I love the bright colors, the bold lines. Her work is dynamic, moving."
The theme of discussions throughout the exhibit reflected the art itself. Parties standing closer to the brighter canvases of red and yellow were more animated than those standing near the blues and
