Scientists who completed a study for Honeywell, the air purifier maker, thermostat maker and a lot of air-related products, ranked the Sarasota-Bradenton-North Port metropolitan area as having the No. 3 cleanest air in the nation.
Florida dominated the Top 10, with Ft. Myers-Cape Coral at No. 2 and Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville landing the top stop.
Environmental Health & Engineering's scientists completed the study, which Honeywell is calling the AirGenius Awards.
Lakeland-Winter Haven also ranked at No. 10. Also in the top 15 included Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford at No. 14 and Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater at No. 15.
The next Florida metro area doesn't rank until No. 43 with Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Pompano Beach then Jacksonville at No. 51.
