BRADENTON – Sources close to Bradenton City Councilwoman Marianne Barnebey have told TBT that the 14-year city council veteran will soon file to run for Mayor of Bradenton in this year's election. As the city gets started on what is hoped to be a redefining era that will include a newly revitalized riverfront, the office could play its most vital role since the city was formed in 1943. Barnebey did not immediately return a call seeking comment.Barnebey is a graduate of Manatee High and Manatee Community College (now SCF) and earned her bachelor's degree from High Point University in North Carolina.
