Florida Amendment 11: Homestead Exemption Low-Income Seniors

Amendment 11: Additional Homestead Exemption for Low-Income Seniors who Maintain Long-Term Residency on Property; Equal to Assessed Value
This amendment would grant full homestead property tax relief to seniors in the low-income tax bracket who have lived in their homes for 25 years or more.
Opponents, including the League of Women Voters of Florida, say this amendment would take away from state revenues and cost an estimated $27.8 million over the first three years of implementation.
Supporters say the measure would help low-income seniors who are trying to survive on fixed incomes.
