Two Lakewood Ranch High School students have died after the truck they were in rolled over several times, ejecting them in a crash Christmas day.
Brett D. Wagner, 18, and Joshua J. Rogers, 18, both seniors at Lakewood Ranch High School died after the accident. Wagner died a few hours after the accident. Rogers died today.
The teenagers were traveling west on State Road 64 just before 9:30 p.m. Christmas night when a 2010 Nissan driven by Fedele A. Mele, 73, pulled out from a stop sign at the intersection of Rye Road and State Road 64 into the pickup truck's path, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the report:
The front of the truck hit the car. The truck went into a spin and then overturned several times on the road. The truck landed on its roof. Both Wagner and Rogers were ejected from the truck as
