Layaway Cash Register Ringing in Angels

There's a velvet, possibly handmade, box sitting next to the layaway register at K-Mart in west Manatee. Inside is a small gift, sitting on top of the velvet box is a large Christmas card with a bold Thank You! on the envelope.
A woman left the gift just in case her layaway angel should return to the store. She wants the anonymous donor to know how much she appreciates the Christmas gifts he helped provide her family.
That gift could go to any one of two dozen anonymous donors who have come in to the K-Mart and asked about layaway accounts with children's tos or clothes. Some donors have paid off the layaway accounts, others have made payments so that the final total is smaller.
