Publix in store for Longboat

The application is final and will be heard by the Planning and Zoning Board Dec. 15. Changes have been made in effort to assuage staff and resident concerns.

Longboat Key at long last has a date with Publix.
The town’s Planning and Zoning Board will consider the completed site plan and application for a redeveloped Publix and Avenue of the Flowers Shopping Center.
The town is recommending approval of the plan after months of negotiating and working with the applicant to increase buffering and configure parking and other issues optimally.
Town Planner Steve Schield authored the staff report and wrote, “During the last few months, the applicant met several times with staff regarding the proposed redevelopment, to review both technical and aesthetics aspects of the project and application
