Navy Vet Enters County Commission Race

BRADENTON – Frank Archino has thrown his hat in the ring for the Manatee County Commission District 5 race. Archino is the second Democrat to file to run for the seat being vacated by Commissioner Donna Hayes. Archino cites dire economic circumstances for too many Manatee residents as an inspiration to run.Archino said that he wants to be there to help citizens at a difficult time when families are being destroyed by home and job losses, and mentioned creating a task force to act as liaison between banks and families as one of the ways local government might help.Acknowledging that job growth must be a priority, Archino thinks the focus needs to be placed on attracting new companies to invest into the community's economy. A retired Navy vet himself, Archino also has two children serving in the Armed Forces, a son in the U.S. Army
